Michelle held her breath as she waited for an answer, knowing that this was really her best shot. She had other friends she could go to, but JD was of age and then some, and had close muggle ties, so she thought she'd be her best bet. When she finally got an answer she gave a quiet "Thanks" and moved to bring down the blinds, feeling bad as she took that request to mean that it was something that could get JD in trouble. Taking a breath, she suppressed the urge to apologize or take back the question, sitting down and pulling out her documents, one by one.
When JD got back with her wand, she gave her a tight smile. "If you could change the last name? To Wright. And bump the birthdate back by two years, to '79, since eighteen is of age in the muggle world and I'll get less questions. I considered making myself twenty-one, so that if I made it to America I could drink, but I doubt I could pass for that old," she said with a halfhearted laugh.
