After the DA meeting a few days earlier, Susan had been kicking her investigation into high gear. She had successfully recruited the Fat Friar and the Grey Lady to their cause and she had received permission from Professor Sprout to keep a small stash of essence of murtlap in her dorm. She was confident now that they would be able to lend that helping hand to the younger years. But, she was still trying to conquer the many portraits of Hogwarts. The brunette would take nice, long walks through the castle at odd hours, speaking with as many inhabitants as she could. Her prefect badge afforded her a little bit of extra time, but on nights when it wasn't her turn to do rounds, she still didn't like to stay out too late... Didn't want either of the Carrows stumbling across her endeavors and becoming suspicious.
There was still a little bit of time left before curfew, so she figured she could still hit a few more paintings. She approached the next frame down the hall, stopping in front of it to examine it. It was just a landscape for a field somewhere in Wales, according to the placard on the gilded frame. A few birds flitted across the sky, dancing in the pink light of the setting sun. Nothing useful here, she decided, but before she could move on, the sound of advancing footsteps reached her ears. Crap, crap, crap... She turned slowly, almost expecting to see a professor, but there was Daphne Greengrass.
"Good evening, Daphne," she greeted the Slytherin cooly, trying to tuck her small parchment list into her robe pocket without it being noticed.
