This was not what Lyle had been expecting. He was thoroughly convinced that, if he cooperated, if he buried how uncomfortable this visit made him, Severus' visit would be quick and to the point. Being immobilized and then mentally invaded had not been part of the plan.
Having never been trained in legilimency or occlumency, Lyle had little defense against Severus' prying. He wasn't even sure how one was supposed to defend against such an attack, and all he could do was sit slumped uncomfortably in his chair as the other wizard sifted through his memories - nearly all related to digs, excavations, showings, travels over the past few years, Iran, Brazil, Germany, Greece. His one comfort was that, to his knowledge, he did not have what Severus was searching for.
