“Oh, but sweetheart,” Alicia cooed, patting George’s cheek as if consoling him, completely ignoring the urge to giggle at the suggestion that she should day dream of Oliver, “I can see you and Wood any time I want. I don’t need to daydream about you two.” With a wink, she rearranged the boxes under her arm and followed him to a place behind the shelf that held just a little more privacy than where they had been before.
“I promise you I’ll let you know,” she assured him, “or Fred, or Wood, or Lee, or Katie, but right now, I think we just need to get her settled in and then we’ll see what might be needed and where to go then.” She sent him an assuring smile, not just to appease him, but herself as well. Chances were that she would be needing their help soon enough, though most likely that would have to do with some more substantial needs such as a little help with food and rent, since her pay as a trainee was only enough to keep herself fed and housed. They would figure it out, though, she was assured of that. “What else have you got that might come in handy?”
