"Looks good!" Lavender pulled her arm out from Seamus's and spread out the picnic blanket that they had taken from her house. Times were hard when you preferred the idea of a winter picnic on the beach than a cosy day in front of the fire, but with Lavender's extended family getting merry in their house, she felt like she didn't have much of a chance to talk to Seamus.
Though he seemed fine, Lavender knew that he probably missed his family. She knew that if the shoe was on the other foot, she would be desperately lonely even in a house full of people. She decided that to cheer him up, she would have to give him as much of her undivided attention as she could give, and since her parents were not fond of her hanging out in her bedroom with a boy, this was the next best thing.
Lavender sat and pulled her legs up to her chin, then patted the spot next to her, "C'mere. Those flames aren't as good as Seamus hugs."
