Brow arched at what Audrey had almost said, Percy smiled, a small expression that touched only the corners of his lips and eyes.
"Perhaps you'd allow me to treat you to lunch, then," he offered cautiously, gesturing to the sandwich she had only half-eaten, half-torn apart in frustration, he hoped, that was not directly entirely at him.
"Tomorrow, even, if you're very busy this afternoon."
It couldn't hurt to be too careful with a woman scorned.
