Was he being serious? First he interrupted her lunch with nonsense about late paperwork, and now he was asking about staff competency? All she wanted was for him to get out of her office. But this was easier to think about than to actually say. Audrey knew that if she did attempt to verbalize this, that it would likely come out much more harshly than was warranted. Sticking to business was probably safer right now, and curtail his stay.
"The competency of my staff?" Apparently, repeating every one of his questions before answering was also a good plan. She didn't know why this was any concern of his, and picked at her sandwich, somehow making the action rather threatening. "Yes. Tell them to stop bloody sending things to the wrong offices."
The fact that this was only the second time anything like that had happened since Audrey began working in this department was conveniently forgotten.
