Honestly, Susan was taken aback by Terry's question. Of course she wanted to dance and she had been wanting someone to ask her all night. But, now that she was actually faced with the situation, she wasn't sure what to do. It wasn't like she had a lot of practice dancing with a boy. In fact, she had never danced with a member of the opposite gender before. She tried her best to keep her cool, but she was secretly having a panic attack. She didn't even know what to say. Obviously she wanted to say yes. But, what if she was bad? What if she made a total fool of herself in front of everyone?
"Sure," she replied, surprising even herself. She knew she just needed to suck it up and do it. She wanted to, so why not. Susan stood, once again smoothing out her dress. She knew she must have been blushing like mad, but she tried to ignore the heat in her cheeks as she looked at Terry.
