Terry smiled at her comment and scratched the back of his head a little before adjusting his glasses yet again- he swore those things tried to run from his face every 10 minutes. The boy was having an issue keeping the little confidence he had started with. She said he looked good, or at least not bad. That meant he looked good, right? She was blushing, so it had to be a good thing.
The way Susan responded sounded like there was a but that was about to follow. When it didn't come, but was replaced by a question of his friends, he thought carefully on how to respond.
"Oh, Us? We've been...." Tormenting me because I like you? Calling me a chicken because I won't ask you out? "Talking."
But the music changed and he decided he should at least give this whole dance thing a try.
