Audrey may or may not have been staring at Charlie as he spoke. Maybe. It was polite to look at someone who was talking to you. And she couldn't help but think how sweet it was that he'd spent part of the day looking for a birthday gift for his mum. It was very considerate, she thought, and nice that he wasn't afraid to talk about things like that.
Still, she was a little rattled when he acknowledged that she'd been listening. Which was, in her mind, more an acknowledgment that she'd been boring a hole into his head with her eyes. Nervously, she smiled and looked down briefly before looking back to him. It wasn't as difficult, now. Although how much longer that could possibly last, she doubted it'd be very long before she was back to mumbling and stammering.
