Even he had to admit that her emphasis on her staying caught him off guard. Charlie had never seen her so... adamant about him being around her ever, or at least he didn't notice it before. And he was not about to complain. If a girl wanted him to stay where he was (and she did not look like the creature from the black lagoon) he was not going to argue. Instead he smiled sweetly at her and cocked his head a little bit to keep more of the eye contact he craved. She had lovely, round eyes, he was noticing.
"It was eventful, just had some of the guys from the Quidditch team hang around and bond a little better. Nothing big, but I may have given them the slip after a while. Had to go get my mom a gift and I didn't need to ruin my tough guy poise in a girly shop, you know," he told her. The boy had won some money betting on the last game between the Tornadoes and the Bats, so he got his mom a scarf from the clothing store, a nice one.
The boy coked his head with a look of amazement.
"Youare actually listening to me," he said in genuine surprise. And enjoyment.
