As Charlie leaned in, Audrey caught a whiff of what could only be firewhiskey. It seemed he'd certainly had a worthwhile trip to Hogsmeade, then. No doubt with a gaggle of girls at his heels. Ordinarily the thought might have made her a little jealous, except that she generally felt the same about any of the boy she found fanciable - she was never going to do anything about it anyway, so who was she to complain that most normal girls really enjoyed flirting and giggling over boys?
She felt his arm behind her, and even though it was only on the back of the couch and not actually around her shoulders, it may as well have been for the dramatic flip her stomach did.
"No!" The emphasis on her word unintentional, Audrey felt like an idiot and shook her head a little more mildly. "Of course not. I couldn't focus anyway. It's just..." She waved the book around. "...boring. Did you have...a nice day out?"
