Ginny froze when she heard footsteps and grimaced. It might just be a prefect, in which case unless they were snakes, she and Seamus might be able to talk them around. But it might not be, and as Seamus tugged her into the little recess, she decided that hiding was probably a better plan, at last at first.
Ginny huddled against Seamus, and groped for her wand, automatically. It was school, and most of the time things still worked the way they should in school. Detentions and points taken and the usual sort of thing that happened if you were out after hours. But this wasn't really their Hogwarts anymore, and it hadn't been since Dumbledore died. Ginny couldn't help but be on the defensive.
She heard something that might have been the quiet murmur of voices, but it was hard to tell, and she nudged Seamus inquiringly, mouthing in the dim light, not entirely sure he could see Prefects?
