Seamus jumped, then laughed as the cards lit up and Neville tried his best to put them out. He joined in, using his Charms book as well to help smother the flare from the deck. After they'd extinguished the cards he looked at Neville. "I'm like that, am I?" he joked, then nodded in understanding. "I s'pose I can be a bit hot-headed some of the time."
He was quiet for a few moments, looking at the smoking cards on the table between them and thinking. He looked back up at Neville as an idea occurred to him. "Now that I think about it, we actually can't have more rounds together - every prefect has t'do rounds a certain number of times throughout the year. But," he said thoughtfully, "I think if I'm subtle about it, I could convince people t'swap with me more often so that most of my pairin's with her came closer together. Or if we knew when we," he gestured between Nev and himself, "had somethin' planned, I could try t'swap and have rounds with her then."
He sat back in his chair once more, lacing his hands together behind his head. "Might not be as good at chess as Ron," he said with a smile, "but I think I'll keep my head for awhile yet, yeah?"
