Sam wanted to snort at Rodney's put-on pout to get attention from Radek and Max, but instead, she found herself smiling. Ever since Rodney had gotten together with the two of them, there had been a change in him. He didn't seem as a high-strung as he used to be. Well, he was still high-strung and a bit of a hypochondriac, but maybe a bit less so. He was happy, that much was obvious. And she was happy for him.
When Charlie told them all to come in, Sam took Cam's hand and headed instead with the others, sitting down next to John. She laughed when Maggie mentioned them sneaking pets in Atlantis and looked over at Cam in amusement. She didn't know yet how they were going to do it, but she had no doubt that they would.
"Just make sure you turn up the air filters so Woolsey doesn't start sneezing," she said with a laugh.
"Hmmm...think I could sneak Crewe onto the Daedalus?" Fred asked as Jack came in with the steak.
Steven looked at her with a half-smirk as he sat down on the other sit of Jeannie. "Usually, Fred, it works better if you don't talk about sneaking something onboard in front of the commanding officer."
Fred gave him a smile. "You going to tell anyone?"
Steven opened his mouth, obviously trying to decide how to answer that, when suddenly the doorbell rang. Maggie went to answer, and a few moments later returned with General Hammond in tow.
"Hello, Sir," Sam said with a grin before realizing what she had said. Old habits died hard.
"George! Sit down. Have a steak," Jack greeted him. "We didn't let Cam anywhere near the grill."
Hammond looked at all of them. "I'd love too...but I didn't come for socializing. There's something important I need to tell you all."
