When Cait told him that he wasn't to follow her to the shower, Carson let out a disappointed sigh. "Yes, love," he said. She was right, though. If he went in there with her, there was no way that they'd be back out to eat. At least not before the food went cold.
So he decided to be good since they would have plenty of time to play after they ate. Instead, he put their food on the table and got everything set up for them. Not long after he finished, his wife came back out, and they were sitting down to eat. He was rather hungry himself, and the chicken smelled very good. That was definitely one of the nice things about being on Earth - the food was fresh.
"We've been so busy, we haven't exactly had time to think about food," he admitted before taking a bite of his chicken and some of the potatoes. At her question about Rodney, he snorted and shook his head. "Would you believe, only the once. I gave him a Thermacare heat wrap, and that seemed to make him happy. Although I'm sure he'll be looking for comfort from his lover tonight."
Shaking his head in amusement, Carson reached out and placed his hand over Cait's. "I'm so glad we're finally finishing up and getting a chance to spend time together again," he told her softly before leaning over to kiss her. "I missed getting to see my wife."
Realizing that if he started this now, there was a chance that they wouldn't finish dinner, Carson pulled back and took another bite of his food.
