"You do, do you?" Carson asked with a laugh as Cait pulled him up from his chair. When she told him her plan, he had to suppress a groan since he knew exactly what she meant by "pop up". His wife could be very naughty when she wanted to be, but that also meant that their love life was quite wonderful.
He quickly shut everything off, and then the two of them headed down to the dining hall, where they joined Evan and Torren. When the little boy reached out to him, he immediately took him into his arms. "Hello there, lad," he said, grinning when he reached out to pat his face. "You really are getting big."
When Evan mentioned that he and Teyla both missed the Pegasus galaxy, Carson nodded in agreement. His family was here, yes, but he had come to see Atlantis as home and knew that it was important that they help the people there. The Milky Way had the Tok'ra and other races besides the humans to assist in protecting it. Pegasus didn't.
"I'm looking forward to going back too," he admitted as Torren clapped. "Looks like someone else is too."
"Teyla hopes we're back in time for his first birthday," Evan said, putting the food he had been picking up in a bag. "Apparently it's a big deal for Athosians. Kind of like here, but it involves a presentation to the village elders."
"I'm sure we'll be back in plenty of time," Carson told him as he gave Torren back to him. He smiled again at the little boy before glancing over at his wife. He was looking forward to the day they had their own child.
Reaching over, he grabbed a container of roasted chicken, mashed potatoes and green beans, and then took Cait's hand to walk back with her to their quarters.
