"Aye, that's definitely broken," Carson said with a soft tsk as he probed Technician Foster's arm. He raised his eyebrows as he looked up at her. "How exactly did you manage to fall down the steps?"
She gave him a sheepish shrug. "Mister Dex...Ronon...he walked past, and I got a little...distracted from my work," she said, obviously very embarrassed by what she was admitted. "I took a step the wrong way."
Shaking his head, Carson went to the counter and got everything to make a fiberglass cast. He then set to work, and as he did, he looked at Foster. "You do know Mister Dex is in a relationship, right?"
She nodded, again obviously very sheepish about what had happened. "Amelia. I know. That's why I feel so bad."
"It's all right, lass. It happens to the best of us. Just want to watch where you're stepping the next time," he told her. Once he finished, he put her arm in a sling and hooked the clasp behind her neck. "I don't think you'll be able to do much repair work for the next few weeks, though."
"It's okay. I was almost finished anyway. The others said they'd finish up," she told him.
"Good. Now off with you. I'll see you next week to check up on you."
After she was gone, Carson cleaned up and then looked around the infirmary. Everything was pretty much back in order now and arranged the way he liked it. Nothing against Doctor Keller, but she did seem have some strange methods for storage of equipment and supplies. It was good to have it all done, though, so he wouldn't be messing with it during the flight back to Pegasus galaxy once the city was finished.
Heading into his office, he sat down and filled out a report on Foster's accident. As he did, his eyes went over to the picture he had sitting on his desk from his wedding to Cait. He wondered if there might be a chance that he could steal her away that evening, so they could spend time together. Even for just a few hours to have dinner.
And then, as if someone had heard him, his wife came into his office. His mouth was curving into a smile, but then he saw the look in her eyes. He knew a cranky Cait was not a good thing.
"Oh, love. You know I'm more than happy to oblige," he said, reaching up and pulling her down into his lap so they could embrace. He held her close for a few moments before nudging her head back and giving her a soft kiss. "How bad was it this time?"
