Alec drew on the cigar and attempted lazy smoke rings, watching the growing pandemonium with bored interest. He couldn't help laughing, however, as Charlie stripped himself. "Me thinks the servant likes it," he observed, laughing more as John finished the job.
Sitting up, Alec stalked over to the pianoforte, cigar in one hand, punch in the other. "Well, servant, entertain us," he barked, sitting at the bench. He rolled up his shirt sleeves with a flourish, then started playing 'Always Look on the Sunny Side', the music fast and bright. "Surely you know the words, servant," Alec teased, and he started singing the chorus: "Always show on the sunny side, And though life chequered be, A gladsome heart bids care depart, And time flies pleasantly."
