Strange how Owen may have sounded like he was glad they were all one big, happy, dysfunctional family, but his stance said something else entirely. Jack drew his lips into a thin line, pushing animosity aside for the time being. There'd be plenty of time for all that later.
Jack was set with his coffee, though he slid to the side ever so slightly, enough so his leg was resting against Ianto's side. "I've seen worse, mind," Jack said with a chuckle. "But not by much."
Flipping through the papers, Jack began to talk aloud as he often did, waiting for the others to either agree or disagree with him. "So we have some people like Ianto and myself that came here of our own accord, and you two who just got tossed here." Jack scratched his chin thoughtfully, peering into one of the cracks, as if expecting to see something jump out, some little detail no one had noticed before.
"A spell?" Jack asked, eyebrows lifting briefly. "Hadn't thought of something along those lines, though I suppose it could be possible." Jack didn't like magic. Alien tech he could analyse. Magic was a bit trickier. "What happens when either of you try to pass the boundaries of the town? Get thrown back with something like an electrical shock? Or is it just like an invisible wall?"
