Paging Ms. Ng Who: Del and ... [OPEN] What: Del was taking a walk When: Morning of Friday, the 20th Where: Residential streets to begin with
There was something wrong. Well, not wrong-wrong. But off. Different. And Delirium could feel it. River had too, but neither of them knew exactly what was missing. And something was missing. It was like a dream that you woke up from too early, half-remembered and flitting away like butterflies with every second that you're awake longer. At least, that's how she imagined that it would feel if she dreamt. But it seemed like everyone else woke up long ago, which wasn't exactly a new thing.
Still, she needed to know. Needed to figure it out. That might have been Delight's downfall so long ago, the need to understand everything. She knew, now, that sometimes not knowing made things better. Mad goes the Man of Truth in a World of Lies. But the lava-red girl wasn't thinking about that.
Instead, she was roaming the streets of the residential areas, sneakers untied and shoelaces making small noises against the cement. Finger moved from house to house, apartment to apartment, as she went through each one as best as she could. She was a child playing Duck, Duck, Goose. And the Geese were where things had changed. "Same-same, same, diff-rent." Muttered thoughtfully to herself as she continued along.
