Who: Tonks, Sirius Prewett, and Harry. Where: Random street When: Early. Sunrise. What: Tonks can't sleep.
Tonks had taken her shower and headed into the bedroom that Remus and Harry had insisted that she take. Remus, because he was an odd odd man and felt it more proper. Harry because he was being a..
Well, her brain immediately went for a variety of words. Tit came to mind. As did prat and jerk. But she chided herself on the words slightly. Still didn't know the whole story, and apparently she had died. So couldn't blame the guy entirely. "Still doesn't have to be so mean." Muttered quietly to herself. The witch stayed holed up in the room, mostly because she had things to deal with on her own. And the hours crept by.
Remus had been awake when she snuck out. Whether from talking with Harry or simply awake, she wasn't sure. But he was stammery when she said something and awkwardly quiet in the in-betweens. He knew something. That was how he got when he knew something. He asked politely if she was alright and Tonks played it off with a goofy grin and shrug. Wanted water. Don't worry so much about me! Those were words he'd hear constantly. When she was sure though that Remus was in the other bedroom with the other man..which she'd ask about later..Tonks was very, extremely careful not to trip or do anything to wake up the finally sleeping Harry on the couch. She got her jacket from where Remus had neatly placed it, and then she stepped outside.
Taking a deep breath, the witch closed her eyes for a moment before opening them again. She memorised the number of the apartment and then took off for a walk. Couldn't sleep, so might as well get to know the town. Wand was in her back pocket and she was on her way. What the Auror really wanted right now was a portable tape player and some headphones. Mental note was made to buy some if they really were staying here for a while. Hands in her pockets, she took off and went a'wandering.
While she walked, Tonks let her mind wander to everything that had happened over the past week. And especially over today. So involved was she in her thoughts that she didn't notice that she had taken a few lefts and then a few rights. Soon enough, she was kind of lost. "I think..I musta broken a mirror." Bad luck. She had it. But instead of fretting too much, Tonks just sighed and laughed a little. Then stopped. The sun was rising. It was rather pretty, really.
