"Not much different from the future. You've got dogs here. No dogs in the future. You've also got nice weather." The snow was just starting to melt, but that was nice, to York, who'd spent many years in the frozen wasteland called Sidewinder. "I've never actually been to Earth myself, so this is a first experience. But I was on the sister planet, Harvest. Just about the same.. different seasons." He took another drink of that fresh coke, then reached out to snag a peanut and pop it into his mouth.
"I'm enjoying the fruit. Strawberries, blueberries, things like that. I haven't ever had them.. they've been extinct a long time. Apples, though. We've got those." That came with a knowing grin at Barney. "Apples are fantastic." Because they were about the only naturally grown food out there, the rest was all grown in labs and harvested in labs, never seeing real sunshine. Same with the meat, animals were no longer used, but meat was simply grown in a lab. It didn't taste the same as the meat here on Earth.
