"You're a liar, River Tam, you know perfectly well what that means." He smirked and stopped walking forward. Instead, he stepped to the side, lifting his foot over the curb to step onto the sidewalk, and he side stepped until he could turn and press River's back against the cold, dirty side of the building in the shade behind them. "I'm talking about the thunder down under. The cream of the crop. The frosting on the cake. Feel me now?"
After a moment (because River would certainly make a fuss of what he'd just done), he stepped forward again but kept a firm hold on her shins so that she wouldn't be able to slide off of his back.
