Truth be told, Jack would have gone after Ianto a week later but it had taken him eight months to get things in order so that he could leave Torchwood. He had learned his lesson from the last time: no more running off unannounced. The team tended to not like it, particularly when he would be entrusting everything to Gwen -- the only one of his team who was left that he had trained completely.
The kiss, as far as Jack was concerned, should have gone on for longer but Jack would take what he could get. "She was. In... more ways than one," Jack confessed softly. Let Ianto take that as he would. "There are no preparations that need making," Jack replied. "This was something unplanned and wouldn't have happened had I not hesitated and that's all there is to it." Jack broke off, hearing the meaning behind Ianto's words. "I'm there," jack said softly. "You have this strange power to ask me to do something... and I most always agree. Talk about one's powers being used for good or evil."
