Wincing, Jack changed the angle of his head to look out at the water instead of down at Ianto and the pebble. So he'd been so focused on creating that metaphor and trying to work on Ianto's psyche that he missed the comment about the lake. "All right, it is pretty too," Jack allowed, hiding a smile. "And I know you're still doing your shifts." Lifting his head completely, Jack's free hand fitted itself under Ianto's chin, turning the other man's head so they were looking at each other. "You might be here, but you're not completely you yet. You will, I have every confidence that you will."
Lightly, Jack pressed a kiss to Ianto's forehead. "You will be fine. But pretending like everything's fine isn't what's going to do it." He tapped his thumb against Ianto's lip. "What about what you had thought about, purchasing the cafe?"
