When Jalil stepped back, Remus fell a bit forward, because he'd been leaning into the kiss-- but he managed to straighten himself up and stared wide-eyed across at the darker man. Oh, Remus, you'd screwed that up. And his cheeks turned suddenly pink.
"Oh, God. I'm so sorry. I didn't-- it just happened, and-- God, I'm sorry. I didn't mean to do that.. well, I did. But I didn't mean for you to hate it. I meant for you to like it. But it's fine that you didn't, and I'm sorry that I startled you, and it's not going to happen again and I-- Good Lord." He closed his eyes. "I'm a complete wanker. I sound like an idiot. "Can we just call this day over, and pretend it never happened? I'm such a fool.." He felt like an idiot. He was an idiot. Today had been just about the worst day he'd had since coming to this town.
