He was acting like an abused puppy, the way he shied away when Jalil came forward like that, the way he wouldn't make eye contact with him when he was upset. Remus was going to have to learn that he was having the opposite effect that he desired - those mannerisms were only making him more upset, they weren't calming him down.
"Remus. Stop apologizing." He said it in as gentle of a voice as he could manage, though it still came out a little sharply, because of the mood he was in. He turned to face him completely again, now standing a few feet further away than he had been before. When Remus said that about not wanting him to leave, Jalil didn't think that he'd said that because he was trying to trick him into staying.. it didn't come to his mind at all. That didn't make sense. Why would Remus not tell him that he couldn't leave, if he wanted him to stay? So the other man's stammering, well.. not only was it annoying, but now it wasn't making any sense, either. That was the worse sort of stammering.
"I don't think you're crazy. And I don't think you're trying to kidnap me." He straightened up, pressing his hands together in front of his chest. "Would you please.. stop apologizing?" Stop making a fool out of yourself, Remus.
