In spite of herself, in spite of the new warmth and closeness and the barrier that had been crossed between them, Rose couldn't help but roll her eyes at the glibness in his tone. But there was no hard venom in her voice, no bitterness at all, instead she only turned her head down a half inch more to lay her temple against his shoulder. The fabric of his suit was scratchy but only slightly, not from the coarseness of the material itself but from time and being constantly against his skin, his attire of choice. A shiver rolled up her spine but it wasn't from cold, only closeness and comfort.
On the screen the small, orange animation of Nemo flipped back and forth with idle delight. The little fish had the chance to explore the entire vast ocean, there was seemingly no end to what he could and couldn't do. It was almost infectious, that kind of optimism.
Tilting her head a little bit more, Rose relaxed and burrowed comfortably against his side. The twin heart beat was different, something out of the ordinary to anyone else, but to her it was a rhythm, a comfortable kind of music she didn't want to ever have stop.
