The warmth of him settling at her side was comforting, something familiar that wasn't reminiscent at all of the parallel world, because try as he (and the human counterpart of him) might both in their own ways to make her life as normal as possible, Rose didn't care too much for normalcy anymore. She was also entirely knowledgeable of the differences between the two of them and how bizarre it was that they were so alike while being so very, very different at the same time.
But try as they both might, again in their own ways, to insist she was better off living a safe, human life, the truth was that Rose had long since abandoned the idea she would ever be able to settle. There was too much she'd seen and too many things she still wanted to see for that to ever be the case. Rose knew what she wanted, and the funny truth of the matter was that what she wanted more than anything else was sitting right beside her.
Nothing's ever easy.
The animated fish danced across the screen and Rose sat back against the Doctor's side, her legs tucked in a bit more close. It was nice to relax, to feel this way and be close.
