The pressure at her fingers served to, in a way that was almost an oddity, root her back to the ground. For a heartbeat's time Rose had been fairly certain she'd catapult out of control and crash downwards, a result ending in a cracked tooth, a bloody nose, or some combination in between. It wouldn't exactly be becoming, but chaos of the mind was unpredictable. And so was, for that matter, everything else that had happened since coming to this place.
But for now, there was enough comfort to be had just in holding onto his hand. Rose let her fingers tighten a little bit more on his, feeling the pads of her fingertips shift to accommodate the bumps of his knuckles. Regardless of the way things had happened and what was facing them now, both literally and figuratively, she and the Doctor had come through it, somehow, together. There had to be a reason for that, and that sort of belief was enough to keep Rose upright and coherent for now.
Ianto's remark served as a means of breaking the ice for her, and Rose let her expression smooth out into a bemused laugh. The tension relaxed itself from her shoulders and admittedly she felt better than she thought she would.
"Well, I don't even...know what to say. Except that tea sounds good right about now." Her eyes moved towards Jack and she gave him a wild, almost desperate look touched with fear at its edges. It wasn't the kind of fear that came from looking at the edge of the universe, but rather the kind of not wanting to hurt someone she cared about. And the Doctor with the wide, toothy grin, looking at her in earnest now was the one who'd first shown her the worlds and possibilities she'd been missing. Given her the chance to see the father she'd never known face to face. But the Doctor whose hand she was holding was different, and while there had been plenty of problems and doubts to contend with when his change first happened, something had grown and developed between them, and even if he didn't say it...she knew.
"Sorry, not my most eloquent reaction, is it?" Her eyes glanced sideways to the Doctor in spite of herself.
