Hey Scooby gang! For those I've yet to have the pleasure of meeting, I'm Tris. I'm entirely too happy to be back in a game, as it's been a while. However, I won't be particularly active until Monday(ish) of next week, as I have the good fortune and timing of moving this weekend! Dun dun dun. Pray for my sanity, if you've any mercy.
Anyway, this is Baird. He's the Winter King, old as dirt and about as charming unless he knows and likes you. He's also the Fear Dorcha (“far dor-ha”), or the grim reaper of Fae tradition, so that's not super common. He was recently described as a split personality “grumblebutt and spicy showman.” Considering he has a sort of unfortunate Death avatar D.I.D., that’s a far better description than any of my ramblings, so I’ll be brief.
Baird isn’t really Baird. Due to unfortunate circumstance, he only knows his clan name. His first name was given to him by the first Queen he was sentenced to serve following a fatal misadventure in naughtiness as a sneer. Naturally, it doesn’t see use. Before joining Prague's Winter Court, he spent several centuries in servitude to the Courts in the far north carrying out an exhaustive list of vile tasks. Kidnapping entertainments for the ageless sidhe nobility featured prominently. So if your kiddo is old and novel, they may have had a near-miss with him in the past, or lost a friend or family member who wasn’t so lucky. I'm always up for back-plotting and tangled drama.
Aside from standing at the Winter Queen's side, Baird is the Commander-in-chief and perpetually head-shaking big cheese of the the Sluagh in Prague; the darkest, most vile and least 'human' of the lesser Fae who would threaten the Masquerade without constant supervision, or at least go on nightly soul-stealing walkabouts for giggles. Also called “the host,” they’re the Voldemort horde of the Fae world - few sidhe even speak their name. It's a thankless and unrewarding side job, but no one else will, or likely could do it. So it goes.
Hit me up if you'd like to plot. There's plenty of room. Looking forward to writing with you all!
