His feelings of disgust getting the best of him, Remy decided to wait outside the drying room until Mark showed up. It wasn't so much the dog remains that got to him as it was the whole idea of what was going on. Remy of course didn't know, he'd just had a glimpse, but that glimpse had been too much for William Astor's liking. If he could, Remy would gladly forget all about it and go about his daily life willingly believing anything they wanted him to believe. If they wanted to pretend that Astor Ridge was just another high-class apartment complex, Remy was more than willing to buy into that idea. Instead, he was on some kind of fence, not part of whatever it was, but not blissfully ignorant either. 'Mixed up' was probably the phrase to best describe his situation. All because he saw a little too much.
To be fair, most of the time it wasn't that bad. It was those occasions in-between that made Remy complain. Those occasion when Astor wanted his help. This hadn't been one of them however, which was why the mauled dog made him more uncomfortable than it would have done, had this happened in a normal kind of building. There was something worse than old man Astor here and Remy didn't want to know what - but he wanted to know why he was pulling dog remains from a heating duct. And Mark Eisenhour was the person who most likely held the answer to that. Not that Remy expected him to share, but he just felt that he had to talk to someone and for this particular issue, Mark seemed like the only logical choice. Of course, that wasn't the foremost reason Remy had called for him. Mark was the Head of Security and a dead dog in a heating duct did classify as a case for Security.
