"Pepperoni and mushroom with extra cheese."
Nell was wandering the apartment aimlessly, her phone pressed against her ear and the curve of her shoulder, since her fingers were busy trying to pry the sticky-tack off themselves--unsuccessfully. Damn goop was some alien polymer; no idea why people insisted on gluing IKEA boxes shut with it when simple tape did just fine. The tattooist felt she resembled a cat with chewing gum on her paws.
"Extra garlic bread, too. With Ranch and Marinara... Oh! Two two-liters of Sprite." That last bit was important--Nell still hadn't gone grocery shopping yet, considering the weather had gone from bad, to worse, to Hell freezing over. She'd been living on take-out and Cuppa Joe coffee for three days, and yes--soda sounded a lot better with pizza than tap water.
Sometimes you had to just spoil yourself.
"Right. Astor Ridge, 971. Thanks."
The pizza'd been ordered, her hands thoroughly rid of sticky ET adhesive--Nell decided the track lighting shades she'd ordered a week ago could wait another twenty-four hours or so, and gave up unpacking for the night in favor of slumping on the couch to watch TV. It'd been her day off, but with the unpacking, the rebuilding, the decorating and furniture moving, it'd been more manual labor than she was in the mood for.
Plus, she had found a copy of the original Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles movie in the DVD player when she unpacked it from storage. Now was definitely a good time to be reacquainted with Shredder and Raphael and April O'Neil (truth be told, Casey Jones was always hot with those torn sleeves and hockey stick). With snow distorting the lights from the windows and pizza on the way?
Sounded like a perfect plan to her.
