Part IV - The business of Assembling
"The Avengers should be a thing. We should hang out, keep the world safe, maybe catch a movie. The more other people have a chance to dictate where we go and who we are, the more the world loses out. If we remain independent, we can retain private funding. And no, I'm not going to bankroll this- well, actually I am but hear me out. The Maria Stark Foundation has poured a lot of money on non-profit organizations and charities have flourished. I want this non-profit to do the same thing. We're not in this for the money, we're in this to protect the only planet we've got. To... defend against anyone that would put any nation to a boot heel. To uphold justice. That sort of thing."
"This tower is huge, I can house full robotics labs and engineering bays here. I am going to keep developing new technology, some of which I can share. The least I can do if offer you a place to stay, outfitting everyone would be side project." Tony looked to Hawkeye. "Arrows are like, what, 5 for a dollar at the sporting goods store?"
He continued on to the rest of the table. "It'll be above the board for regulations's sake because it'll have to come from me but the majority of our resources are coming from the Maria Stark Foundation because we will do good works."
