If I were a woman,
Who: Steve Rogers What: Final Phase. Steve is dying. When: Early November Where: Brooklyn, New York. Rating/Warnings: PG...probably Status: Closed; [Complete]
He woke up, and felt the concrete on his face. It was damp and cold on his skin, which he assumed is what woke him. He went to push himself up, but nothing happened. Turning his head to the side, he saw his arm. It wasn't the bulging bicep of Captain America. He was normal. Like he was before the experiment. As he lay there, he realized why the pavement woke him.
He was burning up. If he could guess, his temperature was well into the 100's. He was weak and unable to move. Was he dying? How did he even get here? He didn't know. As he finally pushed himself up, he vomited immediately on himself and the parking lot he was dumped in. Looking up, he knew where he was. It was the secret building where Rebirth started. He was where he was born again. But he wasn't sure why. Scuffling himself backwards, he leaned against one of the brick walls of a building.
Leaning against the wall, he checked his pulse. His heart was racing. Steve had medical problems before the experiment, but that was a while ago. He didn't know what time it was. There was no way of knowing even the day. As he lay there, he felt sweat going down his face and back. This was it. Something was wrong. Captain America was dying. He had to get to the Avengers. They would be able to do something together to stop this. Pushing himself to his feet, he still leaned on the wall.
"Gotta...find them. Tony...can help.." He had taken three steps of staggered breathing before he collapsed and blacked out.
