Steve was in agreement about the Judge. He had no idea what was really going on. It seemed like whoever this lawyer was for the government, he wanted them gone. Maybe he didn't like the idea of super humans any more than he did mutants. There was no telling. "Hopefully your company won't suffer. I know I have already said it, but I am sorry for getting you involved in all this."
It had barely been 15 minutes when the judge walked out and took the bench. He spoke calmly and stern. "After reviewing what I have seen, I have made a decision. Mr. Stark, while I may not agree with some of your personal antics, I do admire what you do for your country. You move us up in the world, and keep the future within a fingertips grasp." He said, giving Tony no real facial emotions.
"Captain Rogers. I remember watching the war footage with you storming Nazi Bunkers, or punching Hitler on the promotional posters. I thought to myself. That man is a true hero. You continue to prove that." There was a hiccup of time as he looked to them both.
"But in all honesty, the side you chose wasn't one of thought. Magneto is a mutant terrorist. The man needs to be locked away, and the key lost. But Charles Xavier is the reason you were there. Magneto was simply a means to an end. I am ignoring the personal attacks on your character, because I found them to be tacky. Instead, I am instating the Avengers as a Nation Wide Team, who will be our first line of defense, once the President approves of course. Court is dismissed...Good luck boys." And with that the judge left.
Steve say with his mouth wide, and his eyes unblinking. "What just happened?"
