People embraced things easily when a nice picture was painted for them. The picture possible to be painted of Steve was a good one, but America had been lucky that Steve's heart and mind was where it should be. When it came to mutants, there was nothing but fear and hate. "I would relate it more to a hate border lining skin color or gender. The reason its gotten so out of hand is because being a mutant doesn't always only change appearance and can be dangerous. But mankind is dangerous in it's own way--as you stated, unfortunately they're the ones outnumbering the mutants at current."
Tony excused himself a moment to retrieve the bagels and fruit salads he'd ordered them. And just in case, another large cup of coffee. Sitting back down he took much more to the coffee than he did the food. But he didn't exactly seem all that thrilled when Steve mentioned the new Avengers. "I haven't, sorry, been a little...tied up. But what do you think about them? What makes these two ladies Avenger-worthy?"
He wasn't sexist by any means but..Tony may or may not have trust issues, or rather, knew things became complicated when it was powerful women put in these situations. Emma Frost would be one of the exceptions to whom he'd known.
