"McCoy?" asked the girl in the bed, without turning to look at them. Dark hair hung around her face, and her limbs lay listless at her sides. She seemed to be staring out the window, and with effort she turned her face to study them.
Makani gave no reaction to Bobby's greeting, other than staring at him for a moment when he appeared from behind Dr. McCoy. Then she refocused on the large blue man by the bed, considering that he was the only one of the three wearing a lab coat. "Are you the one who..."
Her voice trailed off, as if she didn't have the energy to finish. Josh edged his way around the other two, and raised a hand for a moment when he knew she could see him. "I know you were asleep for most of it, but the last time I was here I tried to heal you, and--I wanted to see how you were doing?" The longer he studied her the heavier the sinking feeling in his chest grew. She did not look well.
