Explaining her daughters was always an interesting conversation. Stefan had found out about them by accident after their initial conversation and she hadn’t wanted that to happen with Bonnie. Caroline would have liked to explain it all before showing up with the girls but she’d found it was a lot easier to do that when they were actually present. Especially because Bonnie hadn’t seemed all that sure that anything was real. The last thing Caroline had wanted to do while they were talking on the network was make her friend think she was hallucinating something.
“This is Hope.” Caroline nodded toward the little girl who gave a shy wave before taking the interactive book that Caroline had brought along for her to play with. “And this is Charlotte.” She looked down at the baby in her hands. Thankfully holding Charlotte seemed to have calmed the baby down some so that she was only rubbing her cheek against Caroline’s chest. She was going to need to be fed soon. “They’re my kids. Hope’s eighteen months and Charlotte is four months.”
She rummaged around in the diaper pack and pulled out the bottle she’d prepped before leaving the house. “I can recommend the chocolate chip cookies. They’re delicious. Hope has a sweet tooth for them. My fault since I kind of ate them non-stop when pregnant with Charlotte so we were always in here. The oatmeal ones are good too.” Hope made a grumpy face at that, emphatically shaking her head ‘no’, and Caroline laughed. “Unless you’re little and feel betrayed that the black things are raisins and not chocolate chips.”
She turned her attention back to Bonnie, trying to see how her friend was taking in the news. "But how are you? Damon didn't have anything nice to say about the Prison World."
