The the much anticipated jingle of the bell filled Bonnie's ears and she looked up from her streaming coffee. The familiar blond hair appeared and despite Bonnie's apprehension and doubt, the sight brought the slight, askew smile to her lips. Bonnie believed she would never see Caroline or any of her friends again. Though Bonnie sent Damon back, this latest failure made her wonder if she could accomplish the same for herself. Elena and Damon were supposed to meet her, but it never happened. Crushed, broken, Bonnie cried, allowing rare tears to cascade down her cheeks. Stay strong. The last words from Grams said to Bonnie. Stay strong. But could she? Being trapped in a prison world, 1994, was powerful, overwhelming blow, but having the last bit of hope ripped away? It was devastating. While being in Area 53 was far from the ideal situation, it afforded her an opportunity she'd started to believe was an impossibility: to see Caroline again, Stefan, Elena. While Damon was not present, Elena said he was home and that was better than 1994 with Kai, repeating the same day over and over again.
The smile wavered, replaced by an expression of confusion. Caroline was pushing a stroller, a fussing child, bundled up fiercely against the cold, inside and another walked beside her friend. Kids? Caroline had kids? No, no they were not Caroline's kids. They...couldn't be. Caroline was a vampire and vampires could not have children; vampire were, for all intents and purposes, technically dead. They couldn't reproduce. Those had to belong to someone else and Caroline was babysitting. That was all. It was the most logical explanation, but for some reason it didn't feel true. It didn't feel...right. Caroline parked the stroller at the entrance, having spotted her best friend, lifting the flustered child from inside, and made her way over. The second child, after a longing look at the dessert display followed after the blond. Despite the confusion, unexpected delirium, Bonnie felt the smile return to her lips. It was a far off hope, a dream, but Bonnie thought of having children some day. Being in the prison world pushed the dream off, but seeing the the two of them now, it was once more brought to the forefront. Perhaps here? Maybe.
"No, no, it's okay," she replied, offering a friendly smile to the child scrambling into booth. "Who are the little munchkins?" Bonnie scooted over, allowing the child more room to fit comfortable inside as well as Caroline and the child cuddled in her arms.
