Who: Bonnie Bennett, Caroline Forbes, OT other Mystic Falls people What: Meeting up at the Bakery When: After their network conversation Where: The Bakery Rating: Lowish Status: Partially open? TBD
Despite having two familiar faces in Area 53, Bonnie found she was remained far, far from Mystic Falls with a much less chance than before of ever seeing its familiar clock tower again. According to the representatives of this place, a family who had served Area 53 for many, many years, they had no idea as to how to send anyone back to their original place in time, their original world. Though Bonnie was used to hopeless situations, finding herself alone, Damon and Elena not appearing, had sent her spiraling. Laughing hysterically, crying, Bonnie felt the weight of her grandmother's advice settle upon her shoulders as a burden instead of an inspiration. Stay strong? How could she when the last shred of faith burned when Damon and Elena did not come. When she was once more facing a 'prison world' alone, how could she remain stoic, steeled, in her resolve to escape when all she wanted to do was crumple, crawl into a ball, and cry? It felt incredibly impossible; a far off dream, never to be more than something she saw when she closed her eyes. Being in Area 53, the status of Mystic Falls remained the same, but thankfully, she had her friends and having them, she could do deal. She wasn't alone.
A few steps and Bonnie found herself on York Street pavement. After a few missteps and turns, Bonnie found herself in front of the rumored, tasty Bakery. Bonnie was intoxicated by the smell of baking dough: delicious bagels, donuts, pastries, and who knew what else within those walls. Her stomach growled, an indicator of the hunger she hadn't even know she felt. Nerves, frightened, anxious had her stomach full, an illusion, but a sensation that felt so very, very real. A deep breath and Bonnie pushed open the door, completely and utterly drenched in bakery, sweet, and coffee. Real. Not real. Bonnie closed her eyes and opened them again. The Bakery remained in place and Bonnie swallowed; Kai played so many tricks on her, so many lies, that he'd convinced her that everything and everyone was a walking, talking lie like him. Here, it was different. It had to be. Bonnie took a step and then another, finding herself in front of a pleasant attendant, young, and she tried to smile, but the slightly askew grin wouldn't quite fill her face the way it use to.
"Blueberry muffin, please?" Before she could finish the sentence, a plump, blueberry muffin, smelling sweet and delicious, was in front of her and Bonnie's eyes were darting through the rest of the Bakery, looking for a certain blonde vampire whom she believed she'd never see again. Unfortunately, there was no sign of Caroline and Bonnie had to settle for a booth in the back. Sipping at a steaming cup of coffee and loading a side of bagel with cream cheese, Bonnie kept her gaze upon the door; a child waiting for Santa. Would Caroline actually come? No, was Caroline actually real? No, she'd spoken to her on the network. She had to be real. Had to be real.
