Who: Byron and OTA Where: In the Main Dining Hall When: Day 1, 11AM or so What: Making sure the first buffet of Archon's rest goes off without a hitch Rating: PG for language
The curtains were pulled back two days ago on the main dining room, and yet Byron still hadn't quite managed to get used to it. The decor had changed a bit - glass tabletops giving way to hardwoods and crisp linens - he wasn't quite sure that he liked it. Part of the dislike came from the way the room seemed so much heavier without the modern lines of the old furniture - part of it was just that he didn't much care for change. Taking up his post with little fanfare beyond curt nods to his staff he watched as the doors to the dining hall came open. Sure, the crowds didn't know to be there yet, eventually people would start to stream in like ants to the colony.
Folding his gloved hands behind him he took a tour of the room, inspecting the laid out place settings and the carefully folded napkins that graced each table. While portions of the hall were obviously open to a buffet there was a quaint portion near the open kitchen clearly set out to be more formal dining. A hostess waited at the podium looking around a bit nervously as she saw Byron making his rounds - it wasn't like the man was known for his patience. Catching her eye the girl immediately perked, and Byron thought he had actually seen her heels click. There would be no doubt - this establishment would be run like a well oiled machine.
Shifting back and forth on his heels he surveyed the door and tried to listen for footsteps. Certainly people would be getting hungry soon, wouldn't they? Afterall, he'd actually iced nearly 100 cupcakes all by himself - he'd hate to see them go to waste.
