Still smiling, Alex shook Erica's hand with enthusiasm. "Nice to meet you too, Erica," she said. "And I apologize in advance if I'll forget your name, but I have a terrible memory. Not that I'll forget your face too," she added with a laugh. "But I'm terrible with names, really. Names and places. Do you know where the dining room is? I didn't have breakfast and I'm starving." This was only half true since she'd eaten a packet of biscuits not even one hour ago, but she was looking forward to having lunch with her new friend. She never even considered the possibility that the other girl might not want to hang out with her. Why wouldn't she? It would be pointless and sad to have lunch alone. Alex had about a hundred things she wanted to ask the other girl. But even though Erica looked really nice and probably wouldn't be bothered by her unique personality, so to say, in a rare display of common sense Alex decided to wait a bit before starting to pester the girl with her questions.
