"I'll be careful, kid," Burt replied, reaching over to give Kurt's shoulder a squeeze. "Promise. It's unlikely that any of the stores are all that dangerous just yet, especially if most of the population seems to have left town. I'll have my shotgun. And I promise I won't take any chances."
Blaine knew Kurt would end up worrying the entire time his dad was out, but there was nothing that could really be done if Burt didn't want them to go as well. In fact, three of them together could end up complicating things. Thinking of a way to distract Kurt tomorrow, Blaine suggested, "Maybe you and I could spend some time securing the house a bit while your dad is out? Putting some boards up and stuff."
