Drawing in a soft breath, Blaine nodded slowly when Kurt said he was numb as well. He was right, of course, it had to be shock. That would explain how chilled Blaine felt as well, from what he remembered when he'd been attacked outside the dance. Every time he tried to think about what had happened--about finding his mother just... god, was it only an hour ago? His brain just seemed to shut down, refusing to accept any of it.
"I just don't understand how any of this could be happening." Blaine sighed and laid his cheek against the side of the tub, staring down at the water. "We had breakfast this morning, all three of us. We don't always get to do that. Mom made pancakes. Dad burned the bacon. They wanted me to mow the lawn before they got home from the meeting... told me that just because the world seemed to be ending didn't mean the grass would stop growing." Blaine swallowed hard. "I think my dad was trying to make a joke."
