Characters: Blaine Anderson and Kurt Hummel
Location: McKinley locker room
Warnings: none
Summary: The aftermath of Kurt not getting into NYADA.
Blaine was a little confused as to why Kurt had agreed to meet with Finn and Rachel back at school to open their college letters. After all, they'd graduated; they were done. It was like they were all kind of clinging to the choir room, a bit afraid to let go--especially Finn. Blaine knew Kurt was ready for New York, and he knew Rachel was ready, so why were they back at McKinley instead of at one of their houses to open their letters? If it were him, he'd feel safer doing that at home, especially considering Blaine honestly doubted Finn and Rachel were getting into their chosen schools. Finn because, well, when had the guy ever expressed a desire to act until a few weeks ago? And going out for PACE? Really?
As for Rachel, hounding a dean until she got her way was a bit ridiculous. While Blaine had gotten used to seeing Rachel demand what she wanted until she got it, he couldn't see how it would pertain in this situation.
He already had a celebratory dinner planned for Kurt at Breadstix. He and Burt had argued for a bit over who got to take him out first, but Kurt kind of settled that for them when he said he was opening his letter in the choir room with Finn and Rachel. Blaine might or might not have done a little victory dance that got him swatted upside the head by Burt.
While waiting for Kurt, and not wanting to intrude on the moment, Blaine decided to box for a bit. He still had some fears of his own to get out--as much as Kurt's words to him that they were always going to be together helped, Blaine still couldn't help but wonder if Kurt really understood what being in New York was going to be like? How many eligible and wonderful guys were going to be throwing themselves at him? Guys who were far more deserving and special than Blaine was. It terrified him, but he couldn't let Kurt see that because it was selfish, and it would cause Kurt to feel bad, and it was just easier to take his fears out on a punching bag.
Then again, the virus crisis could end up closing all schools across the country if it wasn't wiped out soon.
Zombies. Where was the reality in that even??
Blaine punched at the bag a few more minutes before glancing up at the clock on the wall. He'd given them thirty minutes and so far Kurt hadn't come looking for him. Maybe he could get in a quick shower first, and then peek into the choir room to see how things were going.
Unwrapping the tape from his hands, Blaine made his way through the door of the gym into the locker room.
