WHO: Daphne Childs & Lys Trahern WHEN: 6:00 pm WHERE: Boston Daybreak Enclave SUMMARY: Daphne checks in with the group and meets a new or at least new to her member! RATING: PG STATUS: complete
Daphne'd been pretty low on the radar when it came to Daybreak centric activity. Sure Rashel could talk all the shit she wanted, but her family consisted of those fighting not the ignorant masses like Daphne's own. She had to precariously balance her knowledge and keep her night activities from upsetting her mother. Activity was highest at night, you know? Sneaking out for a sleepover at so-and-so's house from whatever class at school made it easier, though. The weekend made everything easier. If it wasn't a school night, as long as she could keep in touch and Daphne had just acquired a cellphone.
They were a little expensive, but it allowed her to go about her extracurricular activities while letting her mother believe she could reach her at any time. Sure sometimes she lost signal...which she did a lot in Boston. Or rather, she conveniently turned the phone off so her mom couldn't reach her. It was better than carrying around a beeper. Those were cheaper, but just looking down and trying to see the number, then trying to locate a phone to call it with was a hassle.
She could see the symbol on the door, the black flower, as she pushed the door open and allowed herself in. Greeting the faces she knew, she moved further and further back giving hugs, waves, and smiles as she went along. "I know I know! Getting out of the house isn't easy." She said looking apologetic while she hugged the door keeper. There weren't really a lot there. She at herself down at a table before someone tossed her some Evian. Twisting the bottle off, she settled in, allowing herself to relax and breathe. She didn't have to pretend here. They all knew what she did, if not more. She was still learning.
