He'd felt the resistance at first. It was expected, but as the man allowed his defenses to slip away, he stopped trying to force it and allowed it to happen naturally. What he found after...well, what he found caused a lot of things to slip through. In fact, Dalis would begin to get images of the panther Galen was thinking about. She was strong and beautiful in his mind. She was skilled and smart....and she'd become all this without his help. It was a dark thought, but it was there.
He let the were-panther go having learned all he'd needed to learn from him. "Sorry. I'm just..." He'd been so shocked he'd forgotten momentarily, where Keller was. In fact, the immediate thought upon looking at the man as if seeing him as a new person had been to get her. It was quickly followed after how he was going to protect Dalis from her. "That's really now way to treat you. I didn't know." Maybe it was super weird for him to be apologizing to a deadbeat father, but the fact of the matter was that Galen was extremely old fashioned and he felt obligated to ask for permission to marry Keller, which he definitely planned on doing eventually, when this was all over.
It was kind of sad that he was putting this much effort into finding his daughter now. It was...ironic really. "She's not here." His expression was grim, he tried to put on a smile, but this wasn't the kind of information you could smile through. "We're not sure where she is." His tone was clearly dejected.
"But we are going to find her." There was conviction behind those words, a strong conviction. It was a top priority on his list, even though she'd want him to focus more on rescuing Iliana. Their bond made her leverage, even though she'd love for him to just sacrifice herself if it ever came to that.
