Tyler had never intended on coming out to this party that his friend had thrown. Mostly, because, after the week he has had, Tyler was exhausted between the two jobs he had forced himself to hold down; even if one of them was strictly a volunteer position at a free medical clinic and he could make his own work hours. He liked to stay active; he liked to work. In his own opinion, the volunteer job he had was certainly more enjoyable, because, Tyler enjoyed helping people out and serving them as their personal waiter was certainly not one of them – which was his paying job; Mister Waiter slash bartender. It was just odd and freaky when old women flirted with him and grabbed his ass when he was not looking as he rounded the counter.
There he was being the wall flower despite having an abundance of girls approach him wanting to either get him alone or to dance or to talk. It was hard enough that his ex was here; a reason why he did not want to be here in the first place, especially after she had scared him to death by claiming that she was pregnant was his kid – a lie that had been concocted when Tyler figured that she had discovered that she was about to be dumped.
Blankly staring at the potato chip he held, Tyler eventually consumed it and followed it with a coca-cola before moving off to find something to do in this place. He was seriously entertaining the thought of just leaving with a made-up a excuse, but it did not help that the person that was throwing this bash was in fact a co-worker of his from a restaurant they worked at; so the guy knew his schedule. Maybe someone called in sick and he needed to fill in? The extra money would hurt. There had been this new laptop he had been eyeing at Circuit City, and god knows that he needed a new one.
And since he was considering on going back to school, it definitely would not hurt to have it.
